A Cool Communication Concept
Posted on 26 January 2010
Recently I purchased Dell’s Wireless Projector (The 4610x).

What’s great about this device is that you can connect to it wirelessly from a laptop. Actually up to 4 people can connect and all project their own screens in 4 different quadrants. mobileStorm just moved its corporate headquarters into a new building with tons of space, really high ceilings etc.. I am working on ways to use all of the space since the majority of our employees don’t work out of corporate.
A couple of employees gave me the idea to project stuff on this big white wall we have. I found this projector and the rest is history. Currently I am using it to project positive words and inspirational tid bits. I also plan to use it for quick “stay put” presentations (yes I made this term up). Everyone in the room simply looks over at the wall from desk (since we are all in one big room it makes communication very open and fluid).
I need ideas for what I can do with this projector. Got any ideas of what I could dispaly that would keep the team energized and entertained? I would love to hear them.

Slideshows and visuals are cool. mobileStorm related of course.
Listen to her, she comes up with some doozies…
You can use the Projector to display a Live Twitter Feed that displays Tweets from Twitter from anyone that says the word "mobileStorm". That way you can see what's being said about your business/service/product at all times. And respond to them.
Much like how I did on a Site I developed for one of my Celebrity Clients/Intl Superstar/Super Producer "Benny-D.". Anytime someone says his name or url, it appears on his Tweets Page I setup: http://www.djbennydfansite.tv/tweets-archive/
Cheavor great idea. Do you know of a cool interface that shows tweets coming in that would look really great on a large wall like this? We are also going to implement Yammer soon and show our internal yammers.
you can display the most popular news channel on the projector. or you can also display the live office activity on the projector with additional camera.
I am an executive at a mobile advertising firm as well and we have a huge monitor in the middle of the office. It's programmed so that whenever a sales agent brings on a new client, the whole damn thing lights up with balloons and noises. It also announces to the office the name of the agent who made the sale.
While it can be distracting as hell, a lot of people do not work out of corporate and it is a somewhat nice way to hear about the successes our agents are having around the country.
Now we are putting up dashboards from salesforce on everything from how our customer service is doing to our sales orders for the month. We want to get each dept going with their own projector and dashboard.
